Usually three to six hours for a fabric couch, because we extract most of the moisture during the clean rather than leaving it to air-dry. If the room is genuinely the only sitting space and you need it back fast, ask for a low-moisture clean — it dries quicker. In a small cottage that constraint drives the method, so mention it when you book.
Not if it is tested first, which is exactly why we test. Older wool and linen can shrink or watermark if over-wetted, so we check an inconspicuous spot before any water touches the visible fabric. If there is any risk, we switch methods. A good period lounge is worth the caution rather than the gamble.
