Local service
Glenelg is Adelaide's best-known beachside suburb — the tram down Jetty Road, apartments and holiday lets stacked near the water, and a steady churn of summer guests. That combination of sand, salt air and high turnover is genuinely hard on upholstery, and it produces problems you simply do not see in an inland suburb.
The stock here splits two ways, and they need different things. There are the permanent homes and apartments, where the couch is somebody's actual lounge. And there are the short-stay rentals and holiday lets, where the couch is a commercial asset that has to be guest-ready between bookings. The second group has a deadline; the first does not. We work with both, but the conversation is different. Rental turnovers need a fast, reliable clean between check-out and check-in, and drying time becomes the binding constraint rather than an afterthought.
Sand is the defining problem in Glenelg, and it is worse than it looks. Fine beach sand works its way deep into the seams and under the cushions, and it is abrasive — every time somebody sits down, it grinds against the fibres from the inside. A couch that looks merely dusty can be quietly wearing itself out. Salt air is the second issue: over a summer it leaves a haze that dulls fabric and makes light-coloured upholstery look permanently grubby. Damp and mould show up in the coastal properties too, particularly the ones that sit closed up between guests.
Sandy couches get a thorough dry vacuum before any water goes near them — this matters more than people expect. If you wet sand before you lift it, you turn it into a paste and drive it deeper into the fibre, and the abrasion problem gets worse rather than better. Once the grit is out, the fabric gets steam or low-moisture cleaning depending on what the fibre test says. Salt haze responds well to extraction. For holiday-let turnovers, tell us your check-in time and we will work to it.

Glenelg questions
Dry first, always. Fine sand sits deep in the seams and under the cushions, and if you wet it before lifting it, you turn it into a paste and push it further into the fibre. We dry-vacuum thoroughly before any water touches the couch, then clean. Sand is abrasive — leaving it in there means it grinds against the fibres every time someone sits down, so this is worth doing properly.
Yes, and we will work to your check-in time — just tell us what it is when you book. Most couches are dry and guest-ready in three to six hours with high-powered extraction. If the turnaround is genuinely tight, say so upfront and we will use a low-moisture method that dries faster. A short-stay listing lives on its reviews, and a damp couch is a bad review.

Most couches are dry in 3–6 hours. We use high-powered extraction to pull most of the moisture back out during the clean, and we’ll leave you with simple tips to speed it up.
Yes — it’s one of our most common jobs. We use an enzyme treatment that breaks down the odour at its source rather than masking it with fragrance. Old, repeated accidents can need a second pass; we’ll tell you honestly on inspection.
Yes. Leather gets a different process to fabric — a gentle hand clean and conditioning treatment, no steam. It lifts grime and body oils without drying or cracking the hide.
Most, but not all. We fabric-test every couch before we start. Delicate or moisture-sensitive fabrics get a low-moisture dry clean instead — same result, safer method.
Often, but not always — and we won’t pretend otherwise. We’ll tell you upfront what we expect to lift and what may remain, before any money changes hands.
